Art Supplies (6-12th)Art Supplies can be purchased at Walmart, Big Lots, Michaels, Ollie's or from any local pharmacy or grocery store chain. The quality of the items may vary. Most items listed can be purchased for around $20.00. You may find you have many of these items at home.

Art Grades
I have a "NO Zero," policy, so this is not an option. Do not ask!
40% Sketch book assignments each day(homework) 25% Weekly quiz grades/ 5-10 question electronic test 25% Portfolio Projects 10% Participation Detailed scoring rubrics with specific criteria will be used to fairly and accurately assess all assignments. Criteria that will usually include: Effort, care, helpfulness, creativity, following directions and craftsmanship. There will be two visual rubrics posted to refer to in the art room.(hamburger/Sundae) PracticeThe students who achieve the greatest success and the most enjoyment from art participation are not necessarily the most artistic, but those who are enthusiastic , dedicated and attentive. Learning to create art is, among other things, hard work. Art is fun, but the fun comes as a result of hard work .
All students are encouraged to do their best work with pride, and respect the efforts of their peers. Practice(sketch and Draw ) Sketchbook assignments are due each week by Thursday/Friday points will be deducted from all late assignments Draw at least 15 minutes everyday! At all grade levels students will learn the fundamentals of art with the elements of art and the principles of design. Students will learn to care for art materials as well as a variety of techniques while working to master at least one. Students will be introduced to a number of world renowned artist and local legends. We will learn about how art has influences both locally, globally, culturally and financial. |
